The development of a Supply Chain e-commerce application for the sale of products and services. Mitutoyo are a worldwide manufacturer of precision tools, who sell through a distribution chain. The application enables distributors to view product information and order from an online catalogue via the Internet. The application provides real-time stock availability via a link to their back-end stock system running on an AS/400. Orders placed online are posted automatically to the Sales Order System on the AS/400, without any manual intervention. All Orders are acknowledged via e-mail, and when the goods are despatched the system provides the distributor with an advice note by e-mail. The system provides features including; Fully customisable product catalogue, Secure customer login via user id and password, Browse and search capability within the catalogue, Shopping Basket, Customer pricing options & discounts, Site visit statistics, Sales Order Reporting – using Excel Report Generator, Informational Pages for Company profile, services etc., Catalogue request & feedback.
